<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Central Office, 400 Otarre Parkway Cayce, SC 29033.</p> <p>The Office of Mental Health's mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.</p> <p>As the Program Coordinator II, you will oversee the interpreter services statewide for the Deaf Services Program and all OMH facilities and events. Schedule staff and contract interpreters for consumer appointments, activities, staff trainings, probate court, and meetings as requested by consumer and staff. Coordinate and assist staff with quality oversight of services.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the Program Coordinator II include:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and oversee the operation of the sign language interpreter contract, including providing assessment of quality and adherence to OMH expectations. Provide the contract monitor with information about concerns and balance program needs with available interpreter resources to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. </li><li>Act as an interpreter/translator between deaf and hearing patients or staff using manual communication appropriate to the language and intent of the speaker and spoken English appropriate to the language and intent of the signer primarily in a virtual setting. </li><li>Coordinate and manage the utilization of Business Objects and CIS data to access reports needed for Deaf Service Program operation including caseload, productivity and performance metrics. </li><li>Coordinate and supervise staff to include completion of EPMS as directed. Actively assist in recruitment, retention, and training of interpreters and contract providers. Aid in conducting in-service training for staff. </li><li>Provide advocacy services and referrals to other agencies and service providers needing interpreter services. </li><li>Coordinate or respond to interpreting request outside of normal working hours to include but not limited to, emergency interpreting request from OMH facilities and staff. </li><li>Provide assistance for centers with CARF preparation and compliance related to deaf and hard of hearing consumers. </li><li>Serve as a member of the Deaf Services management team, with the regional supervisors and provide assistance to the Program Manager for overall program management.
