<p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>Reporting to the Administrative Director, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process.</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations checked: Adult (x) Geriatric (x). </li><li>Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care interventions appropriately to ensure optimal patient care. </li><li>Knowledgably administers medications per protocol/policy, observing and documenting patient's response. </li><li>Assess patients' conditions and develops and updates individual plans of care </li><li>Monitors physiological, cognitive status of patients and timely report changes to physicians and/or other appropriate personnel, includes follow-up on lab/test results. </li><li>Documents in a clear, complete, legible, organized and timely manner, demonstrating critical thinking skill in the nursing process. </li><li>Maintains current competencies and skill levels required for work/specialty area. </li><li>Participates in quality and performance improvement programs </li></ul> <p>JOB QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Minimum Education (Indicate minimum education or degree required.)</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of RN Training Program </li><li>Completion of a basic EKG course </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education (Indicate preferred education or degree required.)</p> <ul> <li>Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Nursing </li></ul> <p>Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate minimum years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.)</p> <ul> <li>Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Must be able to work in a union environment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate preferred years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.)</p> <ul> <li>Minimum one (1) year recent experience in an acute care setting preferred. </li><li>One (1) year experience in ICU setting preferred. </li></ul> <p>Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation (List any licensure or certification required and specify name of agency.)</p> <ul> <li>California RN license </li><li>American Heart Association BLS </li><li>American Heart Association ACLS </li><li>Basic EKG </li><li>NIHSS (Stroke) </li><li>Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire) </li><li>Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire) </li></ul> <p>Status: Per Diem</p> <p>Shift: Days</p> <p>Shift Hours: 12hrs</p> <p>Bi-Weekly Hours: 24hrs (Varied)</p> <p>FTE: 0.3</p>
