<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As an LPN, you will provide nonprofessional nursing care. In conjunction with the registered professional nurse, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Participate in assessing, planning and implementing treatment plans and therapeutic activities for patients and/or patient groups, to provide a basis on which care is conducted. </li><li>Assure promotion and reinforcement of socially acceptable behavior, perform security-related tasks, and assure a safe and secure environment in accordance with DHS, MMHI and unit policies and procedures. </li><li>Attend classes, meetings and seminars to improve work knowledge, abilities and skills of self and others. </li></ul> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting salary is between $29.42 and $37.83 per hour (approximately $61,200 and $78,700 per year), based on years of licensure. Additional increases are based on years of licensure in the chart below.</p> <p>Years of Licensure Pay Rate</p> <p>0 $29.42</p> <p>3 $31.11</p> <p>5 $32.79</p> <p>7 $34.47</p> <p>9 $36.15</p> <p>11 $37.83</p> <ul> <li>$.80 /hour night differential and an $.80 /hour weekend differential applies to worked shifts. </li><li>$2,000 sign-on bonus applies to those with no prior state service in the last five years; who stay with MMHI in the position until completing probation. Bonus will be split, $1,000 upon hire and $1,000 after completing probation. </li><li>12-month probationary period is required. Pay schedule and range is 06/05. </li><li>Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. </li></ul> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI, or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.</p> <p>DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum qualifications include the following:</p> <ul> <li>Individuals must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Wisconsin. For specific information on licensing, contact the Department of Safety and Professional Services. </li><li>Eligible is defined as: you currently hold certification as an LPN in another state and are eligible to obtain licensure in the State of Wisconsin or you are in the process of obtaining your licensure and will be licensed within two months of the start date. </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a psychiatric setting or working with psychiatric patients. </li><li>Experience working in a multidisciplinary team. </li><li>Experience following appropriate nursing policies and procedures. </li><li>Experience administering medication and providing patient care. </li></ul> <p>For a guide on developing your resume and what should be included, click here.</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Applying is easy!
