<p>This is an Information Systems Applications Analyst 2 - GIS position with Metro's Information Technology Services GIS Division. This position will perform analytical, technical, and administrative work in the ongoing support of Metro's Enterprise GIS system and related GIS datasets. This is an analyst position able to perform computerized and GIS mapping tasks requiring considerable skill, independent judgement, and specialized experience and knowledge of GIS applications. This position may perform duties associated with compilation and maintenance of Metro GIS layers conduct GIS analysis tasks and generate cartographic products as needed.</p> <p>The men and women in Metro's Information Technology Services (ITS) department work 24-7 to ensure optimum communications both within Metro and between Metro and the general public. Multiple IT teams work to ensure information safety and efficient and effective business transactions.</p> <ul> <li>ITS is a 24x7x365 Information Technology organization. The candidate must be able to perform duties as required by this position which includes working nights, weekends and/or holidays as necessary.* </li><li>Resume must be included with application to ensure consideration.* </li><li>Work with end users to implement ESRI configured solutions in Portal and ArcGIS Online </li><li>Work closely with team members to conduct use-case analysis of business functions to identify GIS application requirements, technical issues and training needs </li><li>Communicate with internal and external technical resources to resolve end-user issues and provide guidance to users on methods for correcting problems </li><li>Use a variety of spatial editing techniques to accurately create and update an array of GIS datasets </li><li>Participate in compatibility testing of application upgrades (planning, development, user testing, implementation) of GIS web applications / desktop extensions to keep pace with current platform version </li><li>Perform quality control processes on GIS data and attribute information </li><li>Prepare technical documentation including data specifications, user requirements, and procedures </li><li>Produce maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data </li><li>Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations </li><li>Perform spatial analysis of both vector and raster datasets </li><li>Conduct in-house training and tracking progress on system implementation and application projects </li><li>Understanding of the data, functions, and tasks that the GIS applications will support </li><li>Perform analysis with model builder and python programming </li><li>Perform analysis with Business Analyst </li></ul> <p>Three (3) years' experience in geographic information system technology, geographic principals, ESRI GIS, and ArcGIS Pro.</p> <p>"No substitution"</p> <p>Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.</p> <p> </p> <p>Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078.
