<p>When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives.Varied hours/shifts - Per DiemJob Description:The PA/NP works as a core member of the ICU team working collaboratively with the ICU physicians in the management of ICU patients. The PA/NP works closely with the ICU physicians and nursing staff and other ICU providers to develop and coordinate a treatment plan of care designed to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of patients. Candidates for the position should have experience in acute care. Experience with bedside procedures needed but willing to train the right candidate. The PA/NP will be working in a highly collaborative and supportive environment.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Provides emergent critical care, stabilization, acute and continuous care of critically ill patients in the ICUPerforms complete histories and physical examinationsOrders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testsDevelops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findingsOrders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policiesConsistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summariesPerforms bedside procedures as authorized by the credentialing committeeDiscusses patient data with other physicians and professionals as appropriate in a multidisciplinary settingDemonstrates expert clinical judgment skills to function in an independent roleDemonstrates professional collaborative and consultative relationships with other providersFollows all designated prescriptive practices and monitoring requirements with the designated supervising physicianParticipates in departmental and organizational committees and programs as appropriate and attends all required meetings, in-services, and professional trainingsMaintains superior interpersonal and communication skills as a member of the healthcare team in order to collaborate effectively with patients, families and staffRemains actively involved in continuing education with a commitment to self and departmental growthAdheres to all established safety policies, procedures, and precautionsDemonstrates understanding of procedures, policies, and documentation required to ensure compliance with hospital standards of careAdditional duties and responsibilities as required by the department/divisionQualifications:Two or more years of acute care practice, preferably in critical care with demonstrable history of proficiency in delivery of critical care medicineThe appropriate candidate will have successfully completed a graduate level physician assistant/nurse practitioner program (Master's Degree)Must hold a current valid license or be eligible for licensure as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of MassachusettsMust have or be eligible for, and maintain, a current ACLS, DEA registration and Massachusetts Controlled Substance RegistrationMust complete 100 hours of CME according to national and state regulations during each two-year period of employment Pay Range: $65.43 - $88.98The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
