The COTA implements selected components of patient/client interventions and obtain data related to that intervention; make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the Occupational Therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort; educate and interact Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistant students, technicians, volunteers, patients/clients families, caregivers; and respond to patient/client and environmental emergency situations. The COTA will be expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include: critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, and commitment to learning.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Educational Requirements</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's in accredited COTA program </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Eligible Lee Health candidates are required to graduate from an accredited program. The accepted accrediting body required for Lee Health's Rehabilitation Professionals is the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>No Experience Required </li></ul> <p>State of Florida Licensure Requirements</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant License </li></ul> <p>Certifications/Registration Requirements</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) </li></ul> <p>Other:Staff may be required to rotate to treatment areas, other than their primary designation, asrequested by their department leader.
