<p>GENERAL PURPOSE</p> <p>Performs a variety of semi-skilled to skilled duties related to the general maintenance and general construction of buildings, building components, swimming pools, and other related duties.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>Promotes and follows the City's mission statement, values and expectations.</p> <p>Responsible for maintenance and/or installation of mechanical and electronic systems such as plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, control systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, etc; monitors motors, pulleys, belts, etc.</p> <p>Performs general upkeep, preventive maintenance and repairs to swimming pool equipment; assures proper system operation for the calibrated release of chemicals into the swimming pool; changes out chemical lines; monitors devices to assure efficient operation; maintains various monitoring and safety devices designed to prevent or control fire, injury or property damage; performs inspections and makes needed adjustments.</p> <p>Maintains, repairs, replaces simple electrical components such as light fixtures, outlets, switches, connections, and routine wiring; replaces light tubes and ballast; assists in major electrical projects.</p> <p>Prepares and paints interior and exterior structures; installs carpet; installs windows and doors; replaces damaged ceiling tile; repairs and replaces locks; clears and cleans drain obstructions; maintains sinks, urinals and toilets, and replaces as needed.</p> <p>Participates in various remodeling projects; builds, repairs, installs and maintains counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, ceiling grid systems, shelving, building framework and trim; uses various hand and power tools. Proficient in dry wall installation, taping, and finishing.</p> <p>Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment; works from blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions.</p> <p>Performs custodial duties as needed, such as:</p> <ul> <li>Sweeps, mops, waxes, buffs floors </li><li>Vacuums and dusts </li><li>Cleans windows </li><li>Cleans restrooms </li><li>Checks security of buildings and office spaces </li></ul> <p>Performs related duties as assigned.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Graduation from high school plus four (4) years of experience performing the above or related duties</p>
