<p>Job Description:</p> <p>BHCC is seeking mathematics faculty for the 2026 Spring Semester:</p> <p>The department provides mathematics instruction that meets the needs of learners with diverse backgrounds and varied educational goals. The department curriculum includes three components:</p> <ul> <li>Developmental math courses for underprepared students. </li><li>Mathematics service courses for students in other disciplines which satisfy the general education criteria of degree and certificate programs. </li><li>Mathematics foundation courses for students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (STEM). </li></ul> <p>Faculty are needed in all areas to create an environment which fosters learner success, promotes academic excellence and prepares quantitatively and scientifically literate citizens.</p> <p>There is an immediate need for faculty to teach the following sections:</p> <p>Cluster Course - MAT098-02C Pre-Statistics/181-02C Statistics</p> <ul> <li>Monday and Wednesday 1-3:45pm meets IN PERSON at the Charlestown campus </li></ul> <p>Cluster Course - MAT093-202C Foundations of Mathematics / MAT097-202C Foundations of Algebra</p> <ul> <li>Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4-5:15pm IN PERSON at the Charlestown campus </li></ul> <p>Cluster Course - MAT093-09C Foundations of Mathematics / MAT 097-09C Foundations of Algebra</p> <ul> <li>Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 2:30-3:45pm meets IN PERSON at the Charlestown campus </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>The Department of Mathematics seeks to hire adjunct instructors that meet the following requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of a Master's degree in one of the following fields: Mathematics or Applied Mathematics; Physics; Engineering. </li><li>Applicants with a Master's degree in Education who have completed a minimum of 18 graduate credits in mathematics will also be considered. Applicants must submit their official transcript of record with their application. </li><li>Community college teaching experience preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching non-traditional and/or under-prepared students. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus. </li><li>Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs. </li><li>Evidence of proficiency with technology. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Salary: $1,397 Per Credit Hour</p> <p>Effective Date: Spring 2026 semester</p> <p>Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as noted above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience has prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience required for the responsibilities of this position.</p> <p>Please note that as a condition of employment, the final candidate will undergo Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) background screenings in accordance with state regulations.
