<p>Hiring Department</p> <p>Athletics</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Position Title: Interim Strength and Conditioning Coach (Temporary, Part-Time)</p> <p>Department: Athletics</p> <p>Institution: University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL)</p> <p>Location: St. Louis, Missouri</p> <p>Type: Temporary, Part-Time (30 hours per week)</p> <p>Appointment Length: Up to two (2) months</p> <p>Application Deadline: Open until filled</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics seeks a qualified Interim Strength and Conditioning Coach to provide temporary, part-time support during the transition and hiring process for the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. UMSL, a proud member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and NCAA Division II, sponsors 15 varsity sports and is committed to the health, safety, and performance of its student-athletes. This position will assist in the continued delivery of strength and conditioning services, ensuring consistency, safety, and support for student-athletes while the department completes a national search for a permanent Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist with the design, implementation, and supervision of sport-specific strength and conditioning programs appropriate to each varsity sport's physiological demands and competitive schedule. </li><li>Provide direct instruction and supervision of student-athletes during strength and conditioning activities. </li><li>Support daily operations of the strength and conditioning facilities, including scheduling, supervision, and equipment oversight. </li><li>Ensure compliance with NCAA, GLVC, University, and departmental rules, policies, and best practices. </li><li>Promote the academic success, health, and welfare of student-athletes. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned to support the goals of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics during the transition. </li></ul> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor applicants for this position for employment visas.</p> <p>Shift</p> <p>30 hrs.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>A Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Current nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification required (e.g., CSCS, SCCC). CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required or obtained within a designated timeframe.</p> <p>Preferred licensures would include: SCCC, MSCC, or CSCS.</p> <p>Experience leading or coordinating a collegiate strength and conditioning program</p> <p>Familiarity with Division II athletics and the GLVC competitive environment</p> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range</p> <p>Salary Range: $25-30 per hour</p> <p>Grade: GGS-009</p> <p>University Title: Strength and Conditioning Coach</p> <p>Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.</p> <p>Application Materials</p> <ul> <li>Application materials include a cover letter and resume.
