<p>Kforce has a client (located in Illinois, about 15 minutes from Downtown St. Louis) that is seeking an experienced Controller to join their team. This role will oversee the company's accounting operations and play a key part in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting. Additionally, the Controller will lead the budgeting process, implement process improvements, and ensure compliance with GAAP while supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, payroll, and general accounting, ensuring departmental goals are achieved </li><li>Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, payments, and collections </li><li>Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to support business objectives </li><li>Lead process improvement initiatives focused on automation, technology, and best practices </li><li>Oversee the preparation, analysis, and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness </li><li>Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes to provide insight into financial performance and support strategic decision-making* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required; CPA certification strongly preferred; Will consider straight public or combo background </li><li>Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) </li><li>Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience guiding accounting operations and driving process improvements </li><li>Prior exposure to mergers and acquisitions and system integrations is highly desirable </li><li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook </li></ul>
