Milwaukee County Parks leadership is committed to honoring diverse experiences, perspectives, and unique identities, while fostering work environments that are inclusive, equitable, and welcoming.</p> <p>Job Summary: The Athletic Official is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the sport by enforcing rules, ensuring fair play, and promoting a positive and respectful environment. This role also serves as a Pickleball Ambassador, helping to facilitate matches while providing exceptional customer service and upholding the standards of Milwaukee County Parks. This is a part time position.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <p>Officials will referee games to the best of their ability by maintaining standards, penalizing and diffusing behavior, and ensuring that specified rules are enforced by using the appropriate signals and mechanics. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service. Communicate and report any problems or concerns with the County Parks Sports Office. Report scores of games (on a daily basis) and turn in game score sheets (on a weekly basis). Officials must be able to maintain control of participants, fans, and crowds.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>Authorized to work in the United States. Valid United States Driver's License. Possession of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. At least one (1) year of knowledge in Softball, Kickball, or Pickleball. Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. Willing and able to travel up to 100% of the time in this role.</p> <p>NOTE: This position is unclassified and not subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations. This original application is open to qualified candidates authorized to work in the United States. Appointee must establish Wisconsin State residency within six (6) months of appointment and maintain such residency during incumbency.
