<ol> <li> <p>Delivers radiation therapy to patient, explains procedure and make patients comfortable. assists radiation oncologist/physician with treatment planning sessions.</p> </li><li> <p>Records all treatment information in patient's chart. report any erratic behavior of the machine to a supervisor or physicist. assists with morning warm-up procedure and calibration checks.</p> </li><li> <p>Schedules patients on treatment machine using computerized scheduling system. maintain continuous contact with patients, frequent contact with nurses and physicians.</p> </li><li> <p>Calculates treatment dose as needed. observes patient for reactions and reports same to physicians. reinforces physician's advice to patients regarding reactions to treatment and their care.</p> </li><li> <p>Explains procedures to patients to alleviate apprehension. observes radiation safety measures for patients and personnel. advises radiation therapy students.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains daily billing information for patients treated. organizes patient's appointments, portal films, and treatment information. performs necessary quality assurance.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares radium for implants and assists with implants. Cleans and returnsradium to safe. maintains records of radium flow.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with quality improvement. participate in quality improvement teams</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains continuing educational credits. performs other essential duties as requested.</p> </li><li> <p>performs other duties as assigned/requested</p> </li></ol> <ul> <li>Graduate of an approved school of radiation therapy, </li><li>licensed by the commonwealth of Massachusetts as a radiation therapy technologist and registered by the A.R.R.T. within one year of graduation. </li><li>CPR within 3 months of position start date. </li></ul>
