In this pivotal role, you will drive our financial strategy and contribute to the continued success of our organization. If you are a passionate financial professional looking to make a significant impact and grow into a Controller role within the next 12-18 months, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Accounting Manager is responsible for preparing reporting and other analyses which require the understanding of GAAP and financial statements. Additionally, the individual will lead the monthly close process, ensuring that all entries are recorded timely and accurately.</p> <p>Position Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Close Process: </li><li>Lead the monthly financial close process, including establishment of standard procedures that result in the preparation of Financial and Management. reporting packages in compliance with US GAAP. Provide variance analysis to prior year and/or budget. </li><li>Close the period timely to meet Management requirements. </li><li>Create and maintain checklist of standard and nonstandard journal entries and accruals needed. </li><li>Manage AP and AR functions and staff on a daily basis to facilitate timely closing each month. </li><li>Journal Entries: </li><li>Ensure accurate and timely completion of higher risk journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, cash reconciliations, flux analysis, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports. </li><li>Perform and review account reconciliations; identify unusual and unexpected items and follow up as appropriate. </li><li>Prepare and post journal entries with proper supporting documentation. </li><li>Financial Analysis: </li><li>Participate in analysis regarding the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, using key financial and business metrics. </li><li>Provide and / or initiate analytics supporting underlying business drivers. </li><li>Support inventory management efforts including costing analysis and trends. </li><li>Research and provide recommendations for cost saving measures. </li><li>Financial Modeling and Forecasting: </li><li>Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives and decision-making. </li><li>Prepare detailed forecasts and projections to guide business planning. </li><li>Strategic Planning: </li><li>Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement long-term financial strategies. </li><li>Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic goals. </li><li>Process Improvement: </li><li>Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting. </li><li>Provide training to other team members in needed areas. </li><li>Other: </li><li>Assisting with internal and external audits as needed. </li><li>Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget. </li><li>Limiting travel may be required from time to time. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Skills and Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>At least 5+ years of relevant accounting experience. </li><li>Previous experience leading month-end close. </li><li>Knowledge of US GAAP. </li><li>CPA certification is a plus. </li><li>Strong computer skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Excel functions. </li><li>Experience with financial modeling and forecasting tools. </li><li>Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). </li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Accounting principles. </li><li>Excellent research and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work with a moderate degree of independence. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. </li></ul> <p>The Woodland Direct team is passionate about all things fire and are focused on transforming the customer experience through technology and innovation.
