<p>Job Description:</p> <p>School Nurse at Putnam Elementary School</p> <p>DESCRIPTION: Putnam Public Schools is seeking a qualified and compassionate School Nurse to join our elementary school community. This individual will support student health and safety, working collaboratively with staff, families, and healthcare providers to promote student well-being and ensure compliance with school health policies. Candidates must be committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and healthy school environment for all students.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Assess and monitor student health needs and their impact on learning </li><li>Develop and manage Individual Health Care and Emergency Plans </li><li>Serve as a resource for students, families, and school staff </li><li>Administer medications and first aid per school policy </li><li>Maintain accurate student health records and perform mandated screenings </li><li>Facilitate communication with families and community health agencies </li><li>Support attendance and communicable disease protocols </li><li>Contribute to the school's safe and healthy learning environment </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing coordinator or school administration. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Current Connecticut RN license </li><li>Minimum of one-year full-time nursing experience within the past five years </li><li>Required coursework or professional development in health assessment, growth and development, public or school health, and related areas (as defined by CT Section 10-212 regulations) </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Ability to respond to health needs with discretion and professionalism </li><li>Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred </li></ul> <p>START DATE: July 1, 2025: This is a full-time position aligned with the school calendar.</p> <p>RATE OF PAY: Compensation is based on contractual agreement</p> <p>APPLICATION PROCEDURE:</p> <p>EXTERNAL APPLICANTS: Please submit your application through our website: www.putnamschoolsct.org</p> <p>INTERNAL APPLICANTS: Please submit a letter of interest to Kaye Jakan, Principal</p> <p>APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: Open until filled</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p>
