<p>Westfield Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of tutor:</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide private instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance or prepare for academic tests. </li><li>Travel to students' homes, libraries or schools to conduct tutoring sessions. </li><li>Schedule tutoring appointments with students and/or their parents. </li><li>Organize tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning. </li><li>Monitor student performance or assist students in academic environments, such as classrooms, laboratories or computer centers. </li><li>Review class material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments. </li><li>Assess students' progress throughout tutoring sessions. </li><li>Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students. </li><li>Communicate students' progress to students, parents or teachers in written progress reports, in person, by phone or by email. </li><li>Collaborate with students' teachers, school administrators or counselors to determine student needs, develop tutoring plans or assess student progress. </li><li>Any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee. </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Administrator of Special Education and Student Support Services</p> <p>SALARY:</p> <p>$19.65 per hour, non-contract, no benefit position</p> <p>EVALUATION: Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions Westfield School Committee</p>
