This position will be a key contributor to the BFA programs in Acting and Music Dance Theatre (MDT). You will production manage auditions, callbacks, proficiencies, workshops, guest artists, and master classes, as well as provide administrative and curricular support to the units. TMA is a vibrant, collaborative department that is dedicated to helping student thrive. If you also love theatre, and want help young artists get their start, we would love to work with you.</p> <p>Note: This is a part-time position (17.5) hours per week.</p> <p>What you'll do in this position:</p> <p>Production Management</p> <ul> <li>Manage all live, video, and virtual auditions, callbacks, interviews, and proficiency events (classroom scheduling, setting up room, managing volunteers etc.) for the Acting and MDT programs. </li><li>Scheduling and management of proficiency workshops. </li><li>Track deliberations and send notification letters to applicants for both programs. </li><li>Manage workshops and masterclasses. </li><li>Coordinate, contract, and help host guest artists. </li></ul> <p>Administrative Assistance</p> <ul> <li>Administrate Acting and MDT Committee meetings (take minutes, identify action items, follow up so tasks are completed). </li><li>Support curriculum development and program assessment. </li><li>Support BFA program forums. </li><li>Support student development initiatives. </li><li>Represent the BFA programs to the public (on department tours, at New Student Orientation, Major Fair, Utah United Auditions, etc.) </li><li>Create and/or order recruitment materials/swag within a set budget </li><li>Coordinate with TMA Communications Specialist to keep the BFA materials on the TMA website accurate and up-to-date. </li></ul> <p>What qualifies you for this role:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>A firm commitment to the mission of BYU. </li><li>A BA degree (optional) </li><li>Experience in production management, theatre management, or office administration. </li><li>Proficiency/certification in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. </li><li>Self-motivation and an ability to work without direct supervision. </li><li>A friendly attitude, a positive outlook, and a calm demeanor with a wide range of clients and in a moderately stressful environment. </li><li>The ability to be flexible and responsive to fast-paced work. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of FERPA regulations. </li><li>Familiarity with BYU curricular systems (Learning Suite, Coursedog, Workday). </li><li>Practical experience working in the theatre as an actor, director, stage manager, or production manager, etc. </li></ul> <p>What we offer in return:</p> <p>This position comes with fantastic benefits, including:</p> <ul> <li>Employee assistance program, available to the employee and all members of their household </li><li>Access to the library </li><li>Free on-campus parking </li><li>Free UTA pass </li><li>Discounts at the BYU Store and for many events at BYU </li></ul> <p>Pay Grade: 47</p> <p>Typical Starting Pay: $18.75 to $23.75 an hour</p> <p>Required Documents:</p> <p>All Staff positions require a resume.</p> <p>Refer to the Job Posting for any additional required documents.</p> <p>Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.</p> <p>Brigham Young University is an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.</p> <p>Brigham Young University (BYU) is widely recognized not just for its world-class education, but for its deep commitment to inspired religious values.
