<p>OVERVIEW</p> <p>Libbey is hiring a Purchasing Buyer! This position will monitor consolidated queues in JDE for new order requisitions and follow the conversion process to issue purchase orders to the supply base. This position will challenge order requisitions that do not follow company policy, work with category leaders to resolve sourcing challenges, monitors storeroom inventory reports and reorders to assure the plant has the inventory items they need. The Purchasing Buyer will also handle basic continuous improvement projects interfacing with touch point departments such as Accounts Payable, resolve invoice issues and assist with RNV report resolution.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Execute purchase orders to the suppliers from order requisitions received from Libbey sites and affiliates </li><li>Quote and process affiliate orders </li><li>Create export paperwork for international shipments </li><li>Manage inventory of parts for consolidation of shipments </li><li>Arrange the crating of parts and equipment for international shipments </li><li>Execute inventory orders to ensure the storeroom is kept at appropriate levels </li><li>Prioritize projects and actions needed to execute cost savings and value sourcing </li><li>Identify and pursue new opportunities to help in cost reduction, unnecessary workflow and new supplier opportunities </li><li>Understand and support the Libbey Lean Enterprise activities in the department and across the company </li><li>Establish and execute cost control and cost reduction initiatives </li><li>Optimize and validate supply base through the leveraging and consolidation of spends </li><li>Understand and comply with established Libbey Purchasing Procedures </li><li>Work with the Purchasing Manager in creating updated SOPs </li><li>Utilize appropriate software packages to assist in daily work, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and JD Edwards </li><li>Conduct research involved with all assigned responsibilities and any other activities as needed </li><li>Lead, influence and empower the organization to fulfill our purpose (living our legacy, shaping our future and winning as one) </li><li>Cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture where associates can thrive, make us better and fuel ideas/innovations to ensure our long-term success </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma required </li><li>Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience </li><li>Strong collaboration skills and proven ability to work independently </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills, willing to partner with others and communicate differing perspectives </li><li>Strong critical thinking skills with an ability to analyze, evaluate and form judgments </li><li>Strong problem solving and analysis skills </li><li>Ability to manage projects and resources efficiently, to meet team and company goals </li><li>High attention to detail and consistent follow through is required </li><li>Occasional domestic travel required, up to 10% </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <ul> <li>Maintain safety in a production environment </li><li>Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers to operate office tools </li><li>Frequent speaking/listening in face-to-face and/or phone conversations </li><li>Occasional standing/walking in glass production environment </li><li>Occasional reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching </li><li>Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds </li><li>Close-up vision necessary </li><li>Work in glass production area with associated safety equipment </li></ul>
