<p>College Discovery - Non-Teaching Adjunct</p> <p>GENERAL DUTIES</p> <p>Completes non-teaching projects or complex work in support of a Campus or University administrative or academic department. This work is generally of a temporary nature and requires specialized experience or expertise.</p> <p>CONTRACT TITLE</p> <p>Non-Teaching Adjunct</p> <p>FLSA</p> <p>Exempt</p> <p>CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION</p> <p>The successful candidate will report to the Director of College Discovery</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <p>Provide instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance</p> <p>Collaborate with faculty and College Discovery staff to identify specific student academic and study skills issues</p> <p>Prepare lesson plans or learning modules for tutoring sessions according to students' needs and goals</p> <p>Maintain records of student's tutoring sessions</p> <p>Outreach and preserve open communications with students</p> <p>Prepare and facilitate tutoring workshops and other academic support services for small groups of students</p> <p>Compose end of semester report of student's assessment and final grade</p> <p>Manage data and create charts for reports, surveys and assessments</p> <p>Facilitate Freshman Summer Experience</p> <p>Participate in trainings and program/college events</p> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> <p><em>Visa sponsorship is not available for this position</em></p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree required.</p> <p>OTHER QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience</p> <p>Expert knowledge in one or more academic area such as math (College Algebra, Calculus and Statistics), English, Science, or other</p> <p>Skills:</p> <p>Candidates should have excellent communication skills (oral and written), active listening skills, critical thinking skills and a commitment to student success</p> <p>Technologically literate and proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint; comfortable using different database and check-in systems and familiarity with Blackboard, Navigate systems</p> <p>COMPENSATION</p> <p>$47.42 per hour</p> <p>BENEFITS</p> <p>CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification.
