<p>Garden Grove Dog and Cat Hospital is looking for a dependable, motivated, compassionate, experienced Veterinary Assistant for our multi doctor practice in Garden Grove, CA, to join our team. We are a busy hospital with a wide variety of caseload. The veterinary assistant must be someone who enjoys interacting with people as well as animals, and who can communicate effectively and professionally with the doctors, technical staff, and clients.</p> <p>Days and Hours: Four shifts per week including three 10-hour weekday shifts and one 7-hour weekend shift.</p> <p>The Vet Assistant duties include (but not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Compassionately restraining animals </li><li>Taking digital radiographs </li><li>Medication and vaccine administration </li><li>Surgical preparation and monitoring </li><li>Drawing blood </li><li>Placing IV catheters </li><li>Hospitalized patient care </li><li>Maintaining hospital cleanliness </li><li>Obtaining patient vitals </li></ul> <p>The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, provide exceptional customer service, and demonstrate genuine compassion for our patients, maintain a positive attitude, and have good record keeping skills. This position will require bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds, as necessary), and standing for long periods of time.</p> <p>Advanced technical skills not required, but advantageous. Compensation is dependent on experience. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.</p> <p>Our hospital hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30am - 6pm, Sat 7:30am -12pm and Sun 10:30am - 3pm.
