<p>Nuview Union School District</p> <p>DEFINITION: Under supervision of the Program Director and/or Site Supervisor State Preschool Program, will provide a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment where self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged and individuality respected.   EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: To interact, initiate and encourage the children in activities during the day; help the children control behavior using a positive and appropriate approach and using a consistent technique; to help children become independent; to help children learn good social skills; to maintain good communication with parents; to assist the teacher in planning activities for the group; to develop a cooperative and supportive attitude within the classroom; to assist the teacher with observations and documentation to help with required assessments; to ensure that all children are totally visible by staff at all times. In the absence of a teacher with a more advanced permit, take on the duties of a teacher.   QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be at least 18 years old. </li></ul> <p>  Ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Relate joyfully and sensitively to preschool children. </li><li>Be sensitive to children’s individual needs. </li><li>To use appropriate and positive discipline. </li></ul> <p>  Education, Training, and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
