<p>Workweek</p> <p>Faculty | Full-time, tenure track position | 9 months Initial placements are based on education and experience.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>MCC instructors are higher education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies to reach a variety of learners. They assess student learning to ensure student success, staying abreast of current and emerging trends in the discipline. Student success is our goal. </li><li>Possess both the willingness and the ability to share expertise with students, colleagues, and the broader college community in a manner that is engaging and effective. </li><li>Engage in continued professional growth, scholarly engagement, and/or creative development. </li><li>Demonstrate both the willingness and the ability to embrace technology within the college environment. </li><li>Develop and maintain a solid commitment to college service and community engagement. </li><li>Engage in professional behavior and participate actively in teamwork while respecting the diversity of values, opinions, and backgrounds both inside and outside the classroom environment. </li></ul> <p>Instructor of Respiratory Care - Program Chair Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Develop the Respiratory Care curriculum, collaborate in the development of the laboratory space and purchasing of equipment, and ensure the program meets the standards set by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). </li><li>Maintain program accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). </li><li>Conduct program, course, and student outcomes assessment. </li><li>Support and advise students on admission and continuation in the program. </li><li>Establish and maintain relationships with the Respiratory Care advisory committee who provides guidance for the Respiratory Care Program. </li><li>Establish and maintain relationships with cooperating agencies and clinical partners. </li><li>Develop policies and procedures for the program. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education </li><li>Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential </li><li>Current state license (If not an Illinois license, the ability to obtain an IL license within the first three months of employment) </li><li>Minimum of four years of experience as a RRT of which at least two years include clinical respiratory care </li><li>Minimum of two years of experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoArc accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education </li><li>Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential </li><li>Current state license (If not an Illinois license, the ability to obtain an IL license within the first three months of employment) </li><li>Minimum of four years of experience as a RRT of which at least two years include clinical respiratory care </li><li>Minimum of two years of experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoArc accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs </li></ul>
