<p>Description</p> <p>Hennepin County's Environment and Energy department is seeking a Scale House Supervisor. This position will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations, managing appropriate staffing levels, overseeing the department's call center, and generating reports based on data collected at the scale houses. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about developing others, this position may be for you.</p> <p>Location and hours:</p> <p>This position will primarily be based on-site at the Brooklyn Park Transfer Station located at 8100 Jefferson Highway, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. Additional work may be required at the Hennepin County Energy Recovery Center (HERC) at 505 North 6th Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55405, and the Bloomington Drop-Off Center at 1400 West 96th Street, Bloomington, MN 55431. Work hours are Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., with flexibility in start and end times. Occasional weekend hours and on-call availability are required.</p> <p>About the position type:</p> <p>This is a full-time, benefit earning position. You must be a current regular or probationary employee of Hennepin County to apply for this position. Limited duration employees are not eligible.</p> <p>This position is internally classified as an Administrative Supervisor.</p> <p>Click here to view the job classification specification.</p> <p>In this position, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission, and core values. </li><li>Promote a collaborative and inclusive work culture. </li><li>Supervise and oversee performance of all scale house attendants and call center staff. </li><li>Manage staffing schedules to ensure coverage. </li><li>Hire and train staff across scale houses and the call center. </li><li>Oversee financial transactions, deposits, and receipts within the scale houses to ensure accuracy and completeness. </li><li>Oversee the budget for Scale House Operations. </li><li>Utilize computer programs to access data and generate reports. </li></ul> <p>Need to have:</p> <ul> <li> <p>One of the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Six years or more of administrative experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree or higher in business or public administration or another field appropriate to the position and two years or more of administrative experience.</p> </li><li> <p>A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit.</p> </li></ul> <p>Nice to have:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>Hiring, supervising, and/or leading employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Developing, implementing, and administering training to employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Using Paradigm or other scale management software.</p> </li><li> <p>Using CISCO or other call center software.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting with budget analysis and preparation.</p> </li><li> <p>Using Microsoft Office Suite and/or other similar applications to create reports, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to:</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively contribute to creating a workplace that values diversity and inclusion.</p> </li><li> <p>Engage in ongoing professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.</p> </li><li> <p>Investigate and resolve complaints.</p> </li><li> <p>Read and interpret policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Meet deadlines and produce accurate work in a fast-paced environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of policy and procedure recommendations related to the Environment and Energy Drop-off Facilities.</p> </li></ul> <p>About the department:</p> <p>The Environment and Energy department protects and preserves the environment to enhance the quality of life for current and future generations.
