<p>Position Type: Special Education in Secondary</p> <p>Location: Greenbrier School District</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Arkansas Teaching License </li><li>Special Education K-12 Licensure </li><li>192, 246, 530, 258, 194,196, 230, 242, 245, 195, 231, 244, 252, 428 </li><li>OR willingness to obtain licensure through alternate route </li></ul> <p>The Greenbrier School District Description</p> <p>This position is responsible for providing instruction and support designed to ensure students' growth and current and future success.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Teaching and Learning</p> <ul> <li>Deliver daily instruction using district-approved curriculum aligned with state standards and the Science of Reading. </li><li>Develop and implement lesson plans that are tailored to meet individual student needs and reflect accommodations for varying learning styles and exceptionalities. </li><li>Provide individualized and small group instruction to differentiate learning, adapt curriculum, and ensure student access to meaningful educational experiences. </li><li>Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for all lessons and communicating them to students. </li><li>Appropriately Incorporate technology and multimedia to enhance instruction and support student engagement. </li><li>Utilize a variety of instructional strategies based on the district Model of Instruction and evidence based materials that demonstrate knowledge of student learning styles and instructional best practices. </li><li>Develop and administer content-specific assessments and use results to inform instruction and track student progress. </li><li>Regularly progress monitor student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth, and communicate data to stakeholders. </li><li>Maintain an engaging, safe, and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate for the social, emotional, and physical development of students. </li><li>Maintain high expectations for student performance and support students in improving study habits and learning outcomes. </li><li>Collaborate with grade-level/content teams to align curriculum and instruction and ensure vertical and horizontal alignment across programs. </li><li>Assist in selecting instructional materials, maintaining classroom resources, and ensuring equipment is in good working condition. </li></ul> <p>Special Education</p> <ul> <li>Assess student abilities in relation to IEP goals, exceptionality, and educational outcomes using formal and informal tools. </li><li>Collaborate with special and general educators to implement inclusive practices to meet student needs. </li><li>Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) in collaboration with staff and parents. </li><li>Participate actively in Evaluation Review (ER), IEP, and Placement, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings. </li><li>Modify and adapt general education curricula to meet the needs of students with disabilities as outlined in the IEP. </li><li>Provide or supervise personal care, medical care, and feeding needs as required in students' IEPs. </li><li>Supervise and direct the work of teacher assistants and other support personnel within the classroom. </li><li>Ensure student safety and provide a structured, supportive environment that meets behavioral and emotional needs. </li><li>Utilize specialized instructional materials, assistive technologies, and adapted equipment to support student access to curriculum. </li><li>Work in collaboration with general education staff to provide inclusive learning experiences, co-teaching, and support services. </li><li>Document services provided, maintain evaluation data, and keep student records accurate and up-to-date as per district and legal requirements. </li></ul> <p>Professionalism</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate ethical behavior, confidentiality, and professional conduct in all interactions. </li><li>Participate in school-wide and district professional development, including training on differentiation, Science of Reading, curriculum development, and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). </li><li>Maintain awareness and adherence to all state, district, and school policies, procedures, and professional standards. </li><li>Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings, committee work, and campus initiatives. </li><li>Support district goals, mission, and vision through instruction, collaboration, and professional engagement. </li><li>Act as a positive role model for students, fostering a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative school culture. </li><li>Stay current on best practices, special education law, and instructional methods through continuous professional growth. </li></ul> <p>Employability Skills</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate
