<p>Wellabe is seeking a hybrid Sr Investment Accountant who play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the Company's</p> <p>investment accounting activities. This position requires a deep understanding of investment strategies,</p> <p>financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating change</p> <p>and driving improvements in our investment accounting processes.</p> <p>Be successful in this role</p> <p>Someone in this role will be able to do the following essential functions:</p> <ul> <li>Investment Accounting: Manage and oversee the accounting for the company's investment </li></ul> <p>portfolio, including fixed income, equities, and alternative investments, and the external third-party</p> <p>investment accounting relationship.</p> <ul> <li>Financial Reporting: Prepare and review complex investment accounting entries, reconciliations, </li></ul> <p>schedules, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Statutory accounting standards.</p> <ul> <li>Analysis and Reporting: Conduct detailed analysis and provide insightful reports to senior </li></ul> <p>management to inform strategic decision-making.</p> <ul> <li>Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards, </li></ul> <p>including monitoring changes in regulations and implementing necessary adjustments.</p> <ul> <li>Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to </li></ul> <p>streamline investment accounting processes and procedures.</p> <ul> <li>Change Management: Support the Company through upcoming changes in the investment </li></ul> <p>industry, insurance regulation, and the Company investment strategy by providing expertise in</p> <p>investment accounting and associated reporting.</p> <ul> <li>Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, treasury, and risk </li></ul> <p>management, to ensure cohesive and comprehensive financial strategies.</p> <ul> <li>Leadership: Lead, direct, mentor, and coach less experienced staff; either indirectly or through </li></ul> <p>supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field. Combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. </li><li>CPA or CFA preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in investment accounting, preferably within the insurance industry. </li><li>Strong knowledge of Statutory Accounting and regulatory requirements along with the ability to ensure compliance and provide documentation both internally and externally </li><li>Proven ability to manage and understand complex investment accounting and reporting </li><li>Excellent organizational, communication and other interpersonal skills </li><li>Advanced analytical skills with the ability to assess and resolve problems proactively, think critically and methodically, and use logic and make sound decisions </li><li>Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage time, projects/resources and set priorities to maintain efficient workflow </li><li>Ownership mindset for all aspects of the role </li><li>Experience with change management and process improvement initiatives in both a leading and performance capacity </li><li>Proficiency in financial software, investment accounting systems (Clearwater), MS Office Suite </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Hybrid availability </li><li>401(k) with generous, full vested company match </li><li>Health insurance </li><li>Paid time off, holidays </li><li>Volunteer time off </li><li>Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) </li><li>Paternal leave </li><li>Legal insurance </li><li>EAP </li><li>Travel accident insurance </li></ul> <p>Growth opportunities</p> <p>We believe each of us has potential to grow and adapt with our business.
