<p>Job Description</p> <p>Title: Quality Control Technician</p> <p>Reports to: Quality Control Manager</p> <p>Location: St. Charles, MO (MRP)</p> <p>Job Summary: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing, analyzing and interpreting tests designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Perform various tests relating to carbon fiber products. These tests include:</p> <p>Tensile testing of single fibers,</p> <p>Density determination by floatation method</p> <p>Moisture analysis, sizing level determination</p> <p>Denier and yield analysis of yarns and roving</p> <p>Bulk density analysis of milled fibers</p> <p>Fabric thickness, and weight</p> <p>Thermal oxidative resistance</p> <p>Twist and Worsted count of yarns</p> <p>Fiber length (both Chopped and Milled Fiber)</p> <p>Various other carbon fiber tests</p> <p>Analyze results obtained from raw data</p> <p>Organize and maintain data files</p> <p>Prepare technical reports and graphs</p> <p>Collect test samples from the production floor</p> <p>Perform internal quality audits</p> <p>Maintain record retention files</p> <p>Manage sample retains</p> <p>Assist various R&D projects, as required, by attaining test data, analyzing results, and preparing samples</p> <p>Maintain a clean and professional environment in the Quality Control laboratory</p> <p>Print bar code labels when required for approved material. Label approved materials and coordinate the movement of approved materials from QC holding areas to inventory or shipping, as appropriate</p> <p>Any other job tasks that may be assigned</p> <p>High school education (Associate degree, preferred) with experience in Quality Control</p> <p>Experience in laboratory environment utilizing test equipment</p> <p>Good communication skills</p> <p>Good math skills</p> <p>Ability to think through complex processes</p> <p>Computer knowledge (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)</p> <p>Some mechanical aptitude for minor adjustment and calibrations</p> <p>Capabilities to read, understand, and analyze customer specifications</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands of this job are active and the employee must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb; have use of hands and fingers; talk see and hear</p> <p>Some material handling</p> <p>Must be able to wear a respirator</p> <p>Should be able to lift up to 50 lbs</p> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>Laboratory in office setting</p> <p>Some work with chemicals</p> <p>The employee will be exposed to a plant environment which contains noise, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles</p> <p>Zoltek is an equal opportunity employer.
