Multiple positions to start in the 2024-2025 school year.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>The following is a list of minimum qualifications for this position, any one of which may be waived by the Administration in exercising its prerogative to determine qualifications.</p> <ul> <li>Must be 18 years of age or older </li><li>Has completed child care classes or is currently enrolled </li><li>Has earned a high school diploma or equivalence </li><li>Demonstrates warmth, concern, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in young children </li><li>Exhibits interest and support in educational programs </li><li>Can establish positive rapport with children and interact in a mature and appropriate manner with adults </li><li>Is able to develop the understanding of individual needs of students and gauges expectations appropriately </li><li>Exhibits flexibility and patience when dealing with children and adults </li><li>Is able to accept direction and performance evaluation </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of information concerning students and program </li><li>Demonstrates tact when discussing student related or staff related problems </li><li>Exhibits appropriate dress and appearance in keeping with the school environment </li><li>Able to lift up to 30 pounds </li></ul> <p>MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Exhibits a commitment to the District's Shared Vision and Collective Commitments </li><li>Creates a welcoming and positive classroom climate and culture </li><li>Supports the plans and implementation of a variety of developmentally appropriate classroom activities in a safe and nurturing environment </li><li>Takes direction from the instructor to assist with classroom activities </li><li>Follows LPS Policies and Procedures and State of Michigan Licensing Rules for Programs </li><li>Initiates and maintains positive relationships with program families and LPS personnel </li><li>Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by supervisors </li></ul> <p>PROCEDURES:</p> <p>Applicants should furnish a letter of intent, professional resume, copies of educational documents (transcripts/certificates), and three current letters of recommendation.</p> <p>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>The Child Development Assistant will work when the program is in operation. This is an hourly position.
