<p>Introduction</p> <p>\nThe Maryland Department of General Services (DGS) supports State and local government agencies, as well as local non-profit organizations and the citizens of Maryland, by providing facilities management, real estate and surplus property services, as well as security and law enforcement for State buildings. Here at DGS, we truly Do Great Service⦠Consider joining our team!??\n?\n\n</p> <p>GRADE</p> <p>15\n\n</p> <p>LOCATION OF POSITION</p> <p>301 West Preston Street\nBaltimore, MD 21201\n</p> <p>Main Purpose of Job</p> <p>The purpose of the Fuel and Fleet Specialist is to assist the Statewide Fuel Manager with the day-to-day operation of the Statewide Fuel Contract and the Statewide Fuel System. The Fuel and Fleet Specialist serves as the Inventory Standards and Support Services Division's Accountable Officer. Other duties include receiving fuel deliveries, assisting with excess/surplus property requests, assisting with transporting fleet vehicles to and from the shop and auction, auditing fuel exception reports, and reviewing and updating daily fuel pricing.\n</p> <p>POSITION DUTIES</p> <p>Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:\n\n\n-?Review the Contractor's 8AM consigned fuel site inventory report and identify any sites that are low and need delivery. Report low sites to the supervisor for review. Check the 4PM contractor's inventory report and make sure deliveries are made.?\n\n\n-?Receive fuel deliveries at the State Center Fueling Station in Baltimore. Open the site, take a beginning inventory reading. After the delivery, get the delivery paperwork and finish the inventory reading, and deliver the paperwork and reading to the Fuel Contract Administrator.?\n\n\n-?Prepare the monthly Statewide Fuel Exception Audit for 20 Statewide Fuel Accounts. (Download the previous month's fuel exceptions for each audited site and highlight the exceptions to be addressed.) Send the report package to each audited customer for their review. If they have not responded at the set time, send the customers who did not respond to a second notice. If there is no response to the second notice, mark them as non-responsive. Put all information on the Fuel Exception Spreadsheet.??\n\n\n-?Review the daily Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) daily report to confirm the State's daily pricing. Confirm the contractor's daily pricing against the OPIS price, State Fees, and State and Federal Taxes to confirm the Statewide Fuel System's daily prices. Post the confirmed prices on the DGS Website.??\n\n\n-?Serve as the ISSSD Accountable Officer. Facilitate the disposal and transfer of ISSSD property and take the Annual Fixed Assets Inventory.?\n\n\n-?Assist with the disposal of excess and surplus property.\n\n\n-?Use material handling equipment to load and unload materials and equipment.?\n\n\n-?Assist consigned users with invoices and fuel pricing.??\n\n\n-?Conduct site visits as needed.\n\n\n-?All other duties assigned.\n</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education:???Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \nExperience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work. \nNotes:\n1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two?years of the required experience.?\n2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree?from a college or university?for the required experience.\n3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required?experience.??\n</p> <p>DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Strong preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding all qualifications.\n\n\n-?Current employment with the Department of General Services, Business Enterprise Administration is preferred.\n\n\n-?Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).?\n\n\n-?Experience collecting, compiling, and organizing data and/or information.?\n\n\n-?Experience with fuel site operations and fuel inventory compliance.\n\n\n</p> <p>LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS</p> <p>Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
