<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Category: Student Support Staff/Paraprofessional Special Education</p> <p>Location: Suffield Middle School</p> <p>Date of Availability: ASAP</p> <p>Date Closing: Until filled</p> <p>Salary: In accordance to the Teamsters Contract</p> <p>2025/2026 hourly rate range $19.58 - $24.34</p> <p>Period of Employment: Full Time School Year - 33.75 hours per week</p> <p>Reports to: Building Administrator/Special Services Director</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist students with instruction under the direction of a special education teacher. </li><li>Assist teacher/staff in the implementation of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) </li><li>May need to assist with transitioning students to and/or from buses; when necessary, physically assist students out of or into vehicles of transportation. </li><li>May need to assist students with specific physical or behavioral needs through transitions within the classroom or school. </li><li>Other duties as required or assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Candidate should hold an Associate's degree or 2 years of college credit or pass a State Board of Education adopted paraprofessional assessment, which assesses content knowledge in mathematics, reading and writing and an understanding of how to assist in the instruction of these topics.</p> <p>Application Process: Current Members of the Teamsters Union only should apply online www.suffield.org using the "Internal Application" External Applicants must apply online www.suffield.org and include complete list of (3) professional references.</p>
