<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Perform all tasks related to the preparation of prescription medication under the supervision of a pharmacist; maintain drug inventory under the supervision of a pharmacist; accept requests for medication refills from patients and prepare the medication for refill under the supervision of a pharmacist; provide excellent customer service; other duties as assigned.</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Workplace Computer and Equipment</p> <ul> <li>Accurately enters prescription drug data into computer </li></ul> <p>Checking, Examining, and Recording</p> <ul> <li>Checks all labels generated against the original written prescription for accuracy </li><li>Orders, receives and monitors drug inventory </li><li>Ensures that patients receive all medications upon pick-up </li><li>Receives prescriptions from patients and consistently fills out an intake sheet </li><li>Performs all outtake procedures as instructed to ensure medications are correct </li><li>Signs prescriptions out of pharmacy, receives payment, processes credit payments </li></ul> <p>Compliance, Policy, and Procedure</p> <ul> <li>Is aware most pharmacy policies and procedures and regularly seeks to adhere to them </li></ul> <p>Communication</p> <ul> <li>Treats patients and co-workers in a respectful and confidential manner </li><li>Courteously and quickly responds to co-workers and patients request for service or back-up. </li><li>Consistently interacts with customers and co-workers in a patient, professional manner </li><li>Greets patients and co-workers with a professional, friendly greeting over the phone or in person </li></ul> <p>Integrity</p> <ul> <li>Is aware of patient confidentiality and takes steps to preserve it. </li></ul> <p>Patient Focus</p> <ul> <li>Appropriately triages patient to triage when unable or meet requests </li><li>Accepts refill requests from patients and providers and sends flags if necessary to expedite accessibility </li></ul> <p>SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Required: High school Diploma or GED </li><li>Desired: Working formal knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years in college) </li><li>Required: Current Maryland State Pharmacy Technician Certificate in good standing. </li><li>Basic mathematical skills </li><li>Attention to detail and sense of urgency </li><li>Desired: 1-2 years pharmacy technician experience in retail pharmacy setting </li><li>Fluent communication in Spanish language </li><li>Retail Pharmacy Experience </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office </li></ul>
