<p>Job Requirements</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>To be fully engaged in providing No Harm / Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: Servicing</p> <p>the needs of the members through orientations, education, instruction, and evaluation in the area of</p> <p>health and fitness.</p> <p>PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:</p> <p>Quality/No Harm:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for providing new members orientation to include but, not limited to : </li><li> <ul> <li>teaching/ explaining the principles and guidelines to exercise </li></ul> </li><li> <ul> <li>set-up and demonstration on all types of exercise equipment </li></ul> </li><li> <ul> <li>proper lifting techniques </li></ul> </li><li> <ul> <li>explain heart rate range, age predicted and RPE </li></ul> </li><li> <ul> <li>explain the FITT principle to exercise </li></ul> </li><li>Must be able to demonstrate (according to department standards) the ability to handle an </li><li>emergency code. Must be competent in the handling of a real code in regard to BLS and the use </li><li>of the AED and oxygen. Must show the ability to handle the code alone if necessary. </li><li>Will assist with wellness screenings. </li><li>Will be responsible for opening and closing the facility. </li><li>Will be responsible for monitoring blood pressures. </li><li>While working the Cardiovascular area Tech will be responsible for circulating the Heart Rate </li><li>monitor every 15 minutes. </li><li>Works assigned station reviewing all members workout cards while in station. </li><li>Responsible for cleaning designated area daily. </li><li>Checks on positioning of equipment and arranges throughout the day when equipment is out of </li><li>place. </li><li>Assists in maintaining the pool area, picking up and cleaning when necessary. </li><li>Assist in maintaining storage rooms, pump rooms and equipment rooms. </li><li>Assist at the front desk when necessary. </li><li>Locker room checks are to be done every hour during designated shift with a minimum of 2 per </li><li>shift during a 4 hour shifts. This includes but is not limited to: </li><li>Picking up soiled towels, and exchanging the bin. </li><li>Checking on soap, and replacing when necessary. </li><li>Checking on all paper products, and replacing when necessary </li><li>Wiping down all counter tops. </li><li>Maintaining and cleaning the shower when necessary. </li><li>Checking that the shower curtains are hung properly and checking for mildew. </li><li>Maintaining and cleaning the Spa when necessary. </li><li>Fill eucalyptus in sauna. </li><li>Vacuuming the carpet when necessary. </li><li>Responsible for washing laundry, and folding towels when necessary </li><li>Ensuring everyone's safety in the locker rooms and enforcing the policies. </li><li>Will be responsible for conducting facility tours according to scripted guidelines. </li><li>Will score in the 90th percentile on the orientation survey card. </li><li>Will greet all members working out on the floor or leaving </li><li>Will be available to assist members at all times and will remain in their assigned areas </li><li>Will correct bad form and give suggestions to improve their workouts </li><li>Will put up at least 1 fitness article per year for members benefit </li><li>Wellness Talks: FT 6 per year, PT 3 per year, PD 1 per year </li><li>Stewardship: </li><li>Maintains equipment keeping them clean and in good working order to prolong life of the </li><li>equipment. </li><li>Trouble shoots maintenance issues and reports any maintenance issues that cannot be fixed by </li><li>staff. </li><li>Efficient use of cleaning supplies </li><li>Efficient use of exercise supplies </li><li>Stays within allotted FTE's-Not clocking in prior to 6 minutes before their regularly scheduled </li><li>shift. Cannot go over 40 hours in one pay week. </li><li>Must work a minimum of 36 hrs FT or 20 hrs PT. </li><li>Breaks: Meal breaks are given to associates that work more than 5.5 hours. Associates must </li><li>clock out and in for their break. Must be clocked out for a minimum of 28 minutes unless </li><li>instructed by management to clock in sooner. Any associate that takes a short break will face </li><li>disciplinary actions. </li><li>Relaxation breaks are optional and not required by law to give for associates that work a </li><li>minimum of 4 hours. They must get permission from the Lead and or Supervisor and are only </li><li>permitted if the work load is slow and does not affect customer care or safety. 10 minutes only. </li></ul> <p>Work Experience</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Must be certified by a Pro-Health recognized certification agency or Bachelor's in Exercise </li><li>Science. (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA, NASM) </li><li>Must have good personality and enjoy working with different populations. </li><li>Must have strong customer service skills. </li><li>Must hold current American Heart Association's Heartsaver CPR & AED program Completion </li><li>Card prior to start date and maintain. </li><li></li><li>PHYSICAL DEMANDS: </li><li>Must be capable of standing for long periods of time. Cannot sit in front of members unless </li><li>working with a member. </li><li>Must be in good physical condition and capable of lifting in excess of 50lbs. </li><li>Must practice a Healthy lifestyle. </li><li></li><li>MENTAL DEMANDS: </li><li>Must be capable of making safe and proper judgments. </li><li>Must possess a strong work ethic. </li><li>Must be capable of performing multiple concurrent tasks while maintaining a positive attitude. </li><li>Must be able to interact with a variety of individuals and personalities. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>ABOUT HEALTH FIRST</p> <p>At Health First, diversity and inclusion are essential for our continued growth and evolution.
