<p>Join Henry Ford Health as a Surgical Scheduler and make an exciting impact on patient care, contribute to our Motor City Orthopedic team based out of Novi.</p> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY:</p> <p>Coordinates OR surgery schedules to maximize efficient use of operating rooms, equipment, and staff.</p> <p>PRINCPLE DUTIES/ RESPONSBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Works with physician offices to gather information needed to schedule surgeries consistent with department guidelines and accommodating physicians? requests and patients? needs. </li><li>Assigns operating suites and equipment and blocks times to maximize efficient use of resources. </li><li>Ensures that necessary demographic, billing and insurance information is entered into electronic medical records and coordinates with Patient Admitting as needed to prevent delays in scheduled surgery. </li><li>May reschedule surgeries as needed to accommodate emergencies or other unanticipated events. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma equivalency - 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Minimal of two years in a healthcare setting. - Familiar with insurances/authorizations. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>Organization: Henry Ford Providence Hospitals </li><li>Department: Motor City Ortho </li><li>Shift: Day Job </li><li>Union Code: Not Applicable </li></ul>
