<p>HR Coordinator, Central Office Human Resources (2 Vacancies) - Repost</p> <p>POSITION DETAILS</p> <p>Central Office Human Resources (COHR) at The City University of New York (CUNY), is a key service-oriented department within the University Human Resources Office (UHR). COHR provides direct HR services to the Chancellery and employees working in various administrative offices across New York City and Albany, NY.</p> <p>Reporting to the HR Manager or their designee, the HR Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting HR operations and ensuring our team's success. The HR Coordinator is a multifaceted position and may specialize in recruitment, onboarding, talent management, payroll, HRIS data management, and/or benefits, depending on departmental needs. Acting as a first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, the coordinator provides frontline support and expertly triages employee issues, ensuring seamless resolution from start to finish.</p> <p>Examples of key responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist in the full-cycle onboarding process, including reviewing new hire documentation for compliance with CUNY, state and federal employment laws, initiating background checks, and providing benefits information.</p> </li><li> <p>Process personnel transactions across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and other relevant systems. Offer guidance to employees based on established policies, regulations, and contract provisions.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a primary contact for HR information, offering support and problem-solving, while escalating complex issues to management as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate onboarding procedures and recommend process improvements.</p> </li></ul> <p>As our HR department expands and evolves, we're looking for innovative, passionate individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to make a significant impact. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.</p> <p>CUNY's benefits contribute significantly to total compensation, supporting health and wellness, financial well-being, and professional development.
