<p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Project Engineer will develop scope and manage assigned capital projects at the Pace site. This is a part-time position. It includes time in the plant as well as the office, implementing projects driven by personal safety, process safety, environmental compliance, quality, reliability, growth, and/or cost reduction.</p> <ul> <li>Develop and execute $25k to $5 million capital projects (includes developing scope, conducting project safety reviews, generating cost estimates, serving as project manager when funds are approved, etc). Develop all conceptual design, basic engineering and process-related input for detailed engineering deliverables. Interface with contract project engineering personnel if needed. Projects may address process safety improvement or improvements to process, utilities and/or plant infrastructure. </li><li>Lead and participate in process hazard reviews, LOPA analysis, and plant safety assessments. </li><li>Executing and closing PHA/LOPA recommendations. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. </li><li>10+ years' experience in chemical/petrochemical industry or related industry, in either Engineering or Operations role. </li><li>Commitment to high level of safety and environmental awareness. </li></ul> <p>Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Be a self-starter and a self-motivator with a focus on results. </li><li>Strong collaboration skills. </li><li>Strong process understanding and troubleshooting skills. </li><li>Knowledge of heat exchanger design, simulation, and rating is a plus. </li><li>Knowledge of relief device sizing, specification, and selection are a plus. </li><li>Exhibit good leadership attitudes and behaviors. </li><li>Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationship with Operations and Maintenance employees. </li><li>Have a working knowledge of HAZOP and LOPA methodology.
