Optimizes data usability by developing Published Data databases to be used by Research, Analytics, Assessment & Data (RAAD) analysts to streamline analyses. Frequently write queries to pull data, maintains databases, documents logic for data extraction, and writes reports using a variety of tools. Click here for more information on compensation for these roles. </li><li>In addition to competitive compensation, DPS has other Total Reward offerings such as; time off, health and wellness benefits, and PERA Retirement. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Develops Published Data databases to be used by department analysts to streamline analyses, including documentation of business rules for these databases </li><li>Develops streamlined processes for state submissions, including preparation for submissions and documentation of business rules for state submissions </li><li>Performs regular data loads to external assessment vendor systems </li><li>Provides technical support to the Assessment Team with rostering, loading data, and more </li><li>Develops and executes processes for loading of vendor and state supplied scores to department Score Repository </li><li>Works with department staff during vendor negotiations to inform contracts from a technical perspective and works closely with the other members of RAAD's Data System team. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or Social Sciences preferred. </li><li>Three to five (3-5) years of experience in performing similar tasks, including extensive experience working with relational databases and with query and data import/export functionality. </li><li>Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and C#. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including formula/expression writing in MS Excel and MS ACCESS. </li><li>Proficiency in accessing and manipulating data as well as fluency with one or more of the following applications: MS Access, Microsoft SQL Server Data Definition Language (DDL), and/or Structured Query Language (SQL). </li><li>Report skills using MS Access, SQL, DBT, R, MS Excel, Server Reporting Services, and/or Excel Services. </li><li>Proficiency with Google products including Google Docs, Google Sheets, & Google Slides. </li><li>Familiarity and proficiency with Python, Snowflake, and Google scripting. </li><li>Ability to perform troubleshooting techniques to isolate, diagnose, and repair data defects. </li><li>Effective time management and organizational skills. </li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss issues at a technical and non-technical level with programmers and project stakeholders. </li><li>Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines. </li><li>The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance. </li><li>Works collaboratively with others on a team. </li><li>Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Strong data modeling, database design, and data manipulation skills. </li><li>Demonstrated customer-service orientation and a positive attitude. </li><li>High degree of confidentiality and integrity in handling information. </li><li>Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. </li><li>Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us. </li><li>Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position. </li></ul> <p>Denver Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
