as one team.</p> <p>The Connecticut Children's Security team member supports the safety and security of patients, families, staff, and visitors across all Connecticut Children's Medical Center locations, as assigned by the Security Leadership Team.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience Required:</p> <ul> <li>Education: High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Experience: n/a </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Coursework or higher education degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field. </li><li>Experience: Three to five years of security operations in a healthcare environment, or a combination of healthcare security and law enforcement experience. </li></ul> <p>License and/or Certification Required:</p> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license and clean driving record. </li><li>Valid State of Connecticut Guard Card. </li><li>Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Certification obtained within first 3 months of hire and maintained. </li><li>CPR certification obtained within 3 months of hire and maintained. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <p>Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of hospital and departmental emergency procedures (fire safety, disaster response, electrical safety, infection control, and hazardous materials). </li><li>Understanding of organizational policies, <ul> <li>Support day-to-day security operations across assigned Connecticut Children's locations as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Conduct routine patrols, environmental rounds, and safety checks to identify and address potential risks.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a visible, proactive presence to promote a safe and secure environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors. </li><li>Conduct or assist with metal detector screenings, property searches, and other safety protocols as needed. </li><li>Maintain vigilance in safeguarding people, property, and organizational assets. </li></ul> <p>Response & Incident Management- 30%</p> <ul> <li>Respond promptly and professionally to calls for service, emergencies, and requests for assistance. </li><li>Assess situations through direct observation and personal contact to determine the appropriate course of action. </li><li>Provide clear guidance and support to staff, patients, and visitors during both routine and emergency situations. </li><li>Gather information, ascertain facts, and prepare accurate and timely incident reports and documentation. </li><li>Utilize problem-solving and decision-making skills to support safe and effective outcomes. </li></ul> <p>Patient Support & Clinical Partnership-20%</p> <ul> <li>Assist clinical teams with patient watches and safely support approved restraint procedures in accordance with hospital policies. </li><li>Communicate effectively with clinical staff to ensure safety-sensitive situations are managed appropriately. </li><li>Maintain calm, professionalism, and patient-centered communication during interactions with individuals who may be in crisis or experiencing behavioral challenges. </li></ul> <p>Customer Service & Collaboration-15%</p> <ul> <li>Provide courteous, professional assistance to patients, families, staff, and visitors seeking safety or security-related services. </li><li>Foster a cooperative, inclusive, and positive work environment and collaborate effectively with a diverse community. </li><li>Work collaboratively with fellow Security team members and multidisciplinary partners to ensure seamless support throughout the organization. </li></ul> <p>Policy Compliance & Professional Standards-5%</p> <ul> <li>Support continuous improvement of security service standards, practices, and department initiatives. </li><li>Follow all hospital and
