Follow us on LinkedIn.</p> <p>ROLE SUMMARY</p> <p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to process the company's payroll and support the finance and accounts payable team. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll practices, excellent numerical skills, and a collaborative approach to assist with various finance functions.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of payroll experience, with accounting experience being a plus.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. </li><li>Verify and enter payroll data, including time worked, overtime, deductions, and benefits. </li><li>Maintain and update employee payroll records in the payroll system. </li><li>Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees. </li><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. </li><li>Assist with payroll and finance audits and implement corrective actions as needed. </li><li>Collaborate with HR to ensure seamless payroll processing. </li><li>Participate in developing and implementing payroll procedures and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness. </li><li>Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance. </li><li>Review and process expense reimbursements </li><li>Support finance and accounts payable with day-to-day functions, including, but not limited to, invoice processing, reconciliations, and month-end processing. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. </li><li>2-3 years of experience in payroll processing preferred. </li><li>Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Paypro, ADP, Paycom, or similar). </li><li>Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification. </li><li>Experience with multi-state payroll processing, especially in FL, PA, TX & NY. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. </li><li>Strong numeracy and analytical skills. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills </li><li>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. </li><li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. </li><li>2-3 years of experience in payroll processing. </li><li>Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or similar). </li><li>Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations. </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age. </li><li>Must complete a comprehensive background check. </li><li>Must pass a drug screening </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.</p> <p>The company will ask you to help out in other departments depending on company needs. This means that you may not always work in the department where you were hired. Teamwork and getting products out to patients are the goals, and helping where you are needed is crucial to your and the company's success.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be able to speak and hear. An employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms and ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.</p> <p>POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK</p> <p>This position will sometimes require long hours and weekend work/holidays.</p> <p>TRAVEL</p> <p>Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected from time to time.
