<p>Description</p> <p>Information Technology Services - ITS</p> <p>State of Idaho Opportunity</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Information Technology Services (ITS) currently has an opening for an IT Database Administration Analyst III (DBA III) position in our Chinden office in Boise.</p> <p>The selected individual must possess an in-depth knowledge of how to install and manage large, complex database management systems to ensure the security, quality, and integrity of data resources. Work will be performed in a MS SQL Server and MySQL environment supporting the missions of State of Idaho agencies and citizen digital services.</p> <p>Please note: The successful candidates will be required to pass multiple, comprehensive fingerprint-based background checks specific to the agencies ITS supports.</p> <p>Example of duties:</p> <ul> <li>Installs and configures new database server environments </li><li>Monitors and maintains the availability of databases across numerous servers </li><li>Manages permissions and access of data across various State agencies </li><li>Plans and coordinates database migration efforts as environmental requirements and support scopes change over time </li><li>Designs, implements, reviews and updates stored procedures and functions as required to facilitate state-wide database maintenance efforts </li><li>Uses SQL tracing to identify root-cause of process breaks </li><li>Writes SQL scripts to fulfill maintenance needs as they arise </li><li>Designs, implements, or reconfigures ETL processes as agency needs change </li><li>Coordinates with development and hosting teams to implement new enterprise-level systems and services </li><li>Database performance tuning and database storage forecasting </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience installing, administering and monitoring production databases and database servers. </li></ul> <p>Typically gained by a minimum of one year of full-time work experience where installing, administering and monitoring production databases and database servers was part of your primary job functions.</p> <ul> <li>Experience training and mentoring staff throughout the organization on the effective and secure use of data. </li></ul> <p>Typically gained by a minimum of one year of full-time work experience where training and mentoring staff throughout the organization on the effective and secure use of data was part of your primary job responsibilities.</p> <ul> <li>Experience monitoring and tuning the performance of databases, queries and indexes. </li></ul> <p>Typically gained by a minimum of one year of full-time work experience where you regularly monitored and tuned the performance of databases, queries and indexes as part of your primary responsibilities.</p> <ul> <li>Experience developing procedures and controls to ensure database security, integrity and availability. </li></ul> <p>Typically gained by a minimum of one year of full-time work experience where you developed procedures and controls to ensure database security, integrity and availability.</p> <ul> <li>Experience resolving complex database problems. </li></ul> <p>Typically gained by a minimum of two years of full-time work experience where you resolved complex database problems as part of your primary job functions OR at least one year of full-time work experience where you resolved various level-three database escalation tickets as your primary job responsibility</p> <ul> <li>Experience in database resource planning. </li></ul> <p>Typically gained by a minimum of one year of full-time work experience where database resource planning was part of your primary job responsibilities</p> <p>Special Consideration for:</p> <ul> <li>Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server </li><li>Experience managing MySQL environments </li><li>Experience creating and managing SSIS packages </li><li>Experience designing, deploying and managing SSRS reports </li><li>Experience setting up or maintaining SQL failover cluster environments </li><li>Experience managing Windows servers in a virtual environment </li><li>Experience creating and maintaining Azure Data Factory (ADF) workflows and instances </li></ul> <p>Applications will be accepted through 4:59 PM MST on the posting end date.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>The State of Idaho offers a robust total compensation package, including medical, vision, and dental insurance; PERSI retirement benefits; paid sick, vacation, and parental leave; and 11 paid holidays per year.
