<p>The McHenry County Recorder's Office has an opening in their department for a full time Recording Specialist I. This position performs duties associated with the recording of legal documents and assist the public with information regarding the recording of legal documents, assist counter customers and answer phones, or process/index documents. (Prep/Entry of documents and/or Process documents).</p> <p>JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Prep work:</p> <ul> <li>Review, scan, tender paper/digital documents, and mail back documents via mail or electronically. </li><li>Determine proper recording fee and properly affix recording information. </li><li>Use of petty cash, check or credit card. </li><li>Assist counter/public vault customers and answer phones. </li><li>Copy requests: phone, email, counter. </li><li>Check all legal documents for statutory and recording requirements. </li><li>Check all real estate transfer declarations for completeness and accuracy. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Processing work:</p> <ul> <li>Data entry </li><li>Index essential information for searching capabilities </li><li>Review document for requirements </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED; </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>One to two years of progressively responsible related experience; or, </li><li>Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. </li><li>Microsoft word and Excel </li><li>Experience using Fidler Applications and IDOR Applications </li><li>Customer Service skills are a must </li><li>Must be able to type 60wpm </li></ul> <p>A typing test will be administered for accuracy and speed.</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Driver's License </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS:</p> <ul> <li>3 Medical plans, 2 dental plans, and 2 vision plans to choose from. </li><li>Pension: Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) </li><li>Nationwide Retirement Solutions (457 and Roth457) plans </li><li>Standard Life insurance policy with the option to buy up additional coverage for EE and dependents. </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement and Student Loan Repayment Programs </li><li>Paid vacation, sick, personal days and 13 paid holidays. </li></ul> <p>Must be able to successfully pass a background screening.</p> <p>McHenry County is an equal opportunity employer.
