Most opportunities will be global in nature and will involve collaboration with Stellantis colleagues in Europe, South America and Asia.</p> <p>As a Senior Buyer for High Voltage Batteries within Stellantis' Batteries & BMS organization, the candidate will manage one of the most strategically critical commodities in the global transition toward electrification. Supporting North American electrified powertrain programs, this role requires a deep blend of technical understanding, commercial leadership, and strong alignment with executive-level decision making.</p> <p>High Voltage Batteries represent one of the largest cost drivers and most sensitive technologies in Stellantis' BEV and PHEV portfolios. As a result, the Sr. Buyer plays a central role in shaping sourcing strategy, technology roadmaps, supplier selection, and industrialization decisions-often in direct collaboration with senior leadership across Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, Business Development, Legal and our Joint Ventures.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities include but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Leadership </li><li>Lead the complete sourcing lifecycle for battery cells, modules, and packs across North American vehicle programs </li><li>Build and execute long-term commodity strategies aligned with Stellantis' electrification roadmap, localization goals, and regulatory compliance (IRA, USMCA) </li><li>Drive competitive sourcing through rigorous RFQ processes, cost modeling, benchmarking, and supplier financial assessments </li><li>Prepare and deliver executive-level sourcing recommendations, influencing C-suite and global leadership decisions </li><li>Negotiate complex commercial terms that shape the multi-billion-dollar battery cost structure and associated long-term supply commitments </li></ul> <p>Operational Execution</p> <ul> <li>Manage day-to-day commercial performance of battery suppliers, including cost, capacity, quality, logistics, and contractual compliance </li><li>Issue and administer purchase orders, long-term agreements, and non-standard contracts </li><li>Monitor and mitigate supply risks, ensuring continuity for all electrification programs </li><li>Lead cost-reduction initiatives, including fixed-cost recovery workstreams, benchmarking studies, and supplier value-optimization activities </li></ul> <p>Cross-Functional Integration</p> <ul> <li>Partner with Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Finance, Legal, and Project Cost Engineering to ensure sourcing decisions meet technical, timing, and financial objectives </li><li>Provide leadership across global cross-functional teams to resolve commercial or technical barriers </li><li>Deliver clear, timely reporting on commodity performance, supplier status, and risk assessments </li></ul> <p>Joint Venture & Gigafactory Collaboration</p> <p>High Voltage Battery sourcing at Stellantis requires extensive collaboration with our Joint Venture (JV) partners, including global cell manufacturers and large-scale Gigafactory investments.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities with JVs:</p> <ul> <li>Act as a primary commercial interface between Stellantis Purchasing and JV organizations supporting Gigafactory operations </li><li>Align JV production capacity, cell chemistry strategy (LFP/NMC), and technology roadmaps with Stellantis vehicle program needs </li><li>Support JV governance processes by providing cost analyses, sourcing scenarios, risk assessments, and volume allocation strategies </li><li>Evaluate investment trade-offs, capital recovery mechanisms, and long-term supply agreements in partnership with senior leadership </li><li>Ensure synchronization between JV industrial plans and Stellantis product launch timing, quality milestones, and supply chain readiness </li></ul> <p>Strategic Impact</p> <p>Working with JV partners directly influences:</p> <ul> <li>Factory capacity planning </li><li>North American localization strategy </li><li>Long-term cost competitiveness and TCO </li><li>Technology differentiation and platform compatibility </li><li>Executive-level investment and sourcing decisions </li><li>This role therefore requires a high degree of commercial maturity, confidentiality, and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear executive recommendations. </li></ul> <p>Support Global SFG (Strategic Functional Group) Leadership:</p> <ul> <li>Lead global alignment on battery commodity strategy with Purchasing counterparts in Europe, South America, and APAC </li><li>Coordinate global sourcing table decisions and provide consolidated recommendations </li><li>Prepare monthly SFG updates for cross-functional leadership </li><li>Drive harmonized global processes and best practices across regions </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Marketing, Economics, International Business, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Engineering, or equivalent from an AACSB accredited program; Other technical degrees with business background also considered </li><li>A minimum 8 years of relevant purchasing experience or other disciplines that require significant negotiation/exposure to sourcing processes </li><li>Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically </li><li>Strong communication skills with comfort presenting to senior executives. </li><li>Well organized, self-motivated, and resourceful managing complex situations </li><li>Ability to support all aspects of the commercial relationship with the supply base and key internal stakeholders </li><li>Must be skilled at relationship building, cost analysis, negotiation (both internal and external), benchmarking, time management and presentations to all levels of management </li><li>Strong use of MS Office Suite/G Suite </li><li>Proven experience leading major sourcing activities and complex negotiations. </li><li>Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams globally and resolve conflicts quickly. </li><li>Deep understanding of supplier capabilities, battery technologies, and global commodity dynamics. </li><li>Analytical depth in cost modeling, supplier benchmarking, and financial assessment. </li><li>Experience managing legal contracts and navigating large, strategic supplier relationships. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MBA / Master's degree </li><li>Additional experience to support more challenging decks which would reflect in more advanced Purchasing Buyer levels including JIT or MPAB experience </li><li>Previous automotive related and/or global commodity experience </li><li>Previous supervisory experience </li><li>Strong interest in the automotive industry </li><li>Experience working with PentaSAP </li></ul>
