<p>Purpose of Position/Summary:</p> <p>The CTE Computer Science Teacher delivers high-quality instruction in computer science and related career-technical education pathways. This role focuses on preparing students with the technical, professional, and problem-solving skills needed for success in technology careers or postsecondary programs. The teacher designs engaging, standards-aligned curriculum that integrates real-world application and career readiness competencies.</p> <p>Role Expectations (How we measure success):</p> <ul> <li>Design and deliver lessons aligned with state CTE standards and computer science frameworks </li><li>Incorporate project-based learning, hands-on labs, and real-world problem-solving activities </li><li>Provides timely academic feedback to students </li><li>Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners </li><li>Actively participates in TAP teacher evaluation system </li><li>Uses formative, summative, and standardized assessments to inform instruction </li><li>Seeks to improve performance through professional development </li><li>Keeps accurate grade and attendance records </li><li>Builds a classroom culture that fosters belongingness and safety for students </li><li>Communicates consistently and frequently with parents/guardians </li><li>Builds effective relationships with teachers, students and staff </li><li>Exhibits professional habits including: attire, timeliness, attendance, and communication </li><li>Fulfill non-academic responsibilities including: lunch coverage, hallway monitor, arrival/dismissal supervision </li><li>Is involved in school community through participation in clubs, sports, tutoring, and other activities </li><li>Strives to work and live by The Irvington Way </li><li>All other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Skills and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in education required </li><li>Valid Indiana teaching license required (Computer Science or related field) </li><li>Strong technology skills, competent in the use of Google applications </li><li>Flexible mindset with the willingness to adapt quickly to change </li><li>Willingness to follow classroom discipline policies and procedures </li></ul>
