The report contains information on security policies as well as crime and fire statistics for the University.</p> <p>Position Overview: Tutors are trained to work with students both one-on-one and in small groups. Tutors interact purposefully with members of the Pace student body in order to develop successful independent learners.</p> <p>The Peer Content Tutor will:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct one-on-one or small group scheduled and walk-in sessions with students from the Pace community. </li><li>Maintain detailed appointment reflections after each tutoring session. </li><li>Attend and engage in ongoing trainings, assessments, and meetings. </li><li>Undergo observations by Learning Commons Staff and conduct peer observations </li><li>Facilitate exam reviews, classroom visits, and Learning Commons events </li><li>Perform administrative tasks as needed/requested </li><li>Work on projects and other delegated duties to advocate and support the Learning Commons. </li><li>Develop learning resources for students and faculty </li><li>Research materials to support the tutoring staff </li><li>Respond to email requests in a timely manner </li><li>Utilize Learning Commons SharePoint page </li><li>Set and maintain professional boundaries and working relationships </li><li>GPA of 3.4 or higher (3.5 preferred) </li><li>A "B+" or higher in the course(s) to be tutored </li><li>Instructor recommendation </li><li>Advanced computer skills related to the relevant subject matter to be tutored </li><li>Ability to communicate and interact with people of all ages and backgrounds </li><li>Ability to adjust approaches to different learning styles </li><li>Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner </li><li>Reliable and patient with visitors </li></ul>
