<p>Student Worker - Achievement Mentor</p> <p>Number of Openings: 3</p> <p>Purpose/Objective of the Role:</p> <p>The Pathfinder Program is a supportive initiative designed to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.</p> <p>This program offers comprehensive support through various wraparound services and dedicated mentorship.</p> <p>Tasks & Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Achievement Mentor plays a crucial role in the Pathfinder Program.</p> <p>Primary responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Monitor study hall participation by keeping track of scholars' attendance and engagement in study hall sessions</p> </li><li> <p>Weekly follow-ups with scholars</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct regular check-ins to determine:</p> </li><li> <p>How classes are going</p> </li><li> <p>Class attendance and any missed classes</p> </li><li> <p>Upcoming quizzes or tests</p> </li><li> <p>Need for additional support</p> </li><li> <p>Any good news or positive developments</p> </li><li> <p>Update notes in the spreadsheet</p> </li><li> <p>Record the days you connected with students</p> </li><li> <p>Include any useful information gathered during interactions</p> </li><li> <p>Follow up with Jason or Anja</p> </li><li> <p>Forward concerns about scholars</p> </li><li> <p>Report scholars who are not responding to communication attempts</p> </li><li> <p>Additional Tips for Success:</p> </li><li> <p>One-on-One meetings: Personalized sessions with mentors or advisors</p> </li><li> <p>Classroom follow-ups: Regular check-ins related to classroom performance and attendance</p> </li><li> <p>Study hall: Dedicated time and space for focused studying</p> </li><li> <p>Direct intervention: Targeted support for specific challenges or needs</p> </li><li> <p>Qualifications/Skills:</p> </li><li> <p>Be consistent</p> </li><li> <p>Remain organized</p> </li><li> <p>Be approachable</p> </li><li> <p>Celebrate achievements</p> </li><li> <p>Know how to collaborate</p> </li><li> <p>Must be upperclassmen</p> </li><li> <p>Must have 2.0 GPA</p> </li><li> <p>Potential Future Career Benefit:</p> </li><li> <p>Leadership skills</p> </li><li> <p>Communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Networking opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Teaching & coaching experience</p> </li><li> <p>Increased confidence & personal identity</p> </li></ul> <p>NOTE:</p> <p>Employment sponsorship is not available for this position.
