This role involves managing hardware, software, and firmware updates across the enterprise, while serving as a liaison between vendors, internal staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and adherence to security and compliance standards.</p> <p>Some of What You Will Do:</p> <ul> <li>Backup & Recovery Management </li><li>Design, implement, and monitor backup solutions for on-prem and cloud environments. </li><li>Perform regular backup validation and disaster recovery testing. </li><li>Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans. </li><li>System Updates & Patch Management </li><li>Schedule and deploy OS updates, security patches, and firmware upgrades across servers and endpoints. </li><li>Maintain version control and documentation for all updates. </li><li>Compliance & Reporting </li><li>Generate and maintain SOX compliance reports for IT systems. </li><li>Ensure adherence to internal and external audit requirements. </li><li>Adhere to Change Management policies and procedures </li><li>Vendor & Stakeholder Liaison </li><li>Collaborate with vendors for procurement, support, and issue resolution. </li><li>Communicate effectively with internal teams and management regarding system status, risks, and improvements. </li></ul> <p>What You Bring to the Table: (Qualifications)</p> <ul> <li>Applicants must have the ability to work in the US as Latham does not sponsor Visa's </li><li>Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). </li><li>Experience: </li><li>3+ years in systems engineering or IT infrastructure roles. </li><li>Hands-on experience with backup technologies (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Azure Backup). </li><li>Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux OS patching and update processes. </li><li>Familiarity with SOX compliance and audit practices. </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory administration. </li><li>Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and system management tasks. </li><li>Skills: </li><li>Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and virtualization technologies. </li><li>Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. </li><li>Strong communication and vendor management skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate </li><li>CompTIA Security+ </li><li>ITIL Foundation </li></ul> <p>Why should you come work with Us?</p> <p>Comprehensive Benefits for you and your family include:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance </li><li>HSA and FSA plans available </li><li>401(K) with 50% company match up to 6% </li><li>Paid Time Off - Choose an item. </li><li>Holidays - 11 Paid, eligible on day one </li><li>Life/ADD Insurance and Short/Long Term Disability insurance with buy up options </li></ul> <p>Professional Development: Training programs, Tuition Reimbursement, and growth opportunities.</p> <p>Supportive Environment: A culture rooted in collaboration, integrity, and respect.</p> <p>Some Important Information for you:</p> <p>Position Title: Systems Engineer - Backup, Patching & Compliance</p> <p>Location: Latham, NY or Remote</p> <p>Employment Type: Hybrid</p> <p>Status: Full-time</p> <p>Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000</p> <p>Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across US geographic markets. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
