<p>About the role</p> <p>Credo is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer- Optical Test Automation to lead the development of scalable software systems for automated validation of 800G and 1.6T OSFP and QSFP-DD optical modules. You'll architect lab automation frameworks, integrate advanced optical and electrical test equipment, and define the next-generation validation infrastructure that enables rapid deployment of Credo's high-speed data center interconnect products.</p> <p>Base salary range is $140,000 - $210,000 a year. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. Our technology powers the most reliable and energy-efficient connections around the world - and our team powers new products and markets that come next. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Architect and develop lab automation frameworks in Python and C++. </li><li>Integrate and control instrumentation using SCPI, VISA, and REST APIs. </li><li>Automate testing with DCAs (eye, jitter, TDECQ) and VNAs (S-parameters). </li><li>Develop workflows with optical switches and VOAs for margin and sensitivity testing. </li><li>Enable system-level validation across Arista EOS, NVIDIA (Cumulus/SONiC), and Juniper platforms. </li><li>Automate 800G and 1.6T traffic and breakout modes using traffic generators. </li><li>Build data pipelines, dashboards, and statistical analysis tools for test results. </li><li>Lead distributed lab orchestration, CI/CD integration, and test infrastructure. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Photonics. </li><li>8+ years of experience in test automation, instrumentation, or optical systems. </li><li>Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++. </li><li>Hands-on experience with SCPI, PyVISA, and Linux. </li><li>Hands-on experience with DCAs, VNAs, optical switches, and VOAs. </li><li>Working knowledge of PAM4, signal integrity, and optical link budgets. </li><li>Experience with QSFP-DD and OSFP modules at 400G, 800G, and 1.6T. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience automating Arista EOS, SONiC, or Cumulus Linux. </li><li>Familiarity with IEEE 802.3 and OIF specifications. </li><li>Experience with high-volume validation or manufacturing test systems. </li></ul> <p>About Credo</p> <p>Credo's mission is to transform connectivity at scale through fast, reliable, and energy-efficient system solutions.
