As part of DHL Group, you will be working with a global network of Legal colleagues and benefit from a wide range of development opportunities.</p> <p>Job Purpose:</p> <p>Driven and strategic subject matter expert responsible for handling labor relations matters for DHL Express (USA), Inc. and related business units.</p> <p>Your Tasks:</p> <ul> <li>Defines and recommends labor relations strategies to the Vice President, Legal and Head of Labor Relations with respect to collective bargaining agreement (CBA) interpretations and the handling of grievances and labor arbitrations to mitigate the company's exposure and helps to drive the overall management of legal matters related to labor relations. </li><li>Provides timely and expert advice to the Labor Relations team with respect to employee discipline and termination under the CBA. </li><li>Collaborates with Labor Relations to provide labor and CBA training to Operations and other related groups. Involved in key collective bargaining and dispute resolution negotiations with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. </li><li>Support Labor Relations through active participation in the contract drafting and negotiation process. </li><li>Provides comprehensive legal services to DHL Express (USA) in labor law; ensures company complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to labor law. </li><li>Analyzes and interprets case law, court reports, and proposed and existing laws, rules, regulations and company policies related to labor law to communicate on how they impact the organization's operations. </li><li>Advises senior and other levels of management and personnel on legal and related risks associated with DHL's operations in the area of labor; advises business on legal trends and developing areas of law. </li><li>Responsible for day-to-day counseling to Labor Relations on labor issues. Also, responsible for helping the business understand substantive concepts as well as their role in ensuring compliance with the CBA and NLRA. </li><li>Investigate and manage issues involving potential violations of the CBA by union employees. </li><li>Works with VP, Legal to manage all aspects of internal and external legal spend in area of labor with budget level responsibility for same. </li><li>Works with Labor Relations to train the HR, Operations and other related business leaders on the requirements of the CBA and existing laws under the NLRA and other related labor laws. </li><li>Represents and defends the organization's interests in labor arbitrations and grievances and other adversarial legal proceedings; including retaining and managing external counsel and its handling of complaints and charges together with the related spend. </li></ul> <p>Your Profile:</p> <ul> <li>Undergraduate university degree </li><li>Professional Juris Doctorate degree from accredited institution </li><li>License to practice law in good standing </li><li>3-5 years of practical legal experience either with a firm or as in-house attorney, excellent written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Keen awareness, expertise, and knowledge of federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations impacting company's operations and labor relations. </li></ul> <p>We offer:</p> <ul> <li>Great opportunity to work for the biggest logistics company in the world </li><li>International and virtual environment </li><li>Flexibility and great opportunity to learn </li><li>Tempting Compensation and benefits </li></ul> <p>DHL is an equal opportunity employer.?
