<p>Central Services Assistant</p> <p>Employment Type: 0 - Full-time Regular</p> <p>Pay Range: $41,711.00 - 62,567.00</p> <p>Location: Castle Rock, CO</p> <p>Overtime Exempt: N</p> <p>Elected Office / Department: DISTRICT ATTORNEY</p> <p>Performs a wide variety of general clerical duties to support central services, discovery, scanning, quality control, file management, mail distribution, moving physical files, and office receptionist functions of the Office of the District Attorney. Works with confidential information.</p> <p>Generally, the hiring range is $41,711-$52,139 annually. For a more detailed overview please view the full Employee Benefit Guide.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.)</p> <ul> <li>Processes discovery; collaborates with attorneys and support staff on discovery matters; tracks discovery related requests, copies /scans and organizes electronic discovery files to ensure that files are complete. Uploads discovery and CCJRA/CORA materials to counsel as well as preparing and tracking large capacity data storage devices when necessary. Maintains, organizes and tracks the location of current physical files and archived files. Archives, scans, and destroys files per retention policies. Redaction of electronic documents, discovery, and media for Pro Se and CCJRA/CORA requests. </li><li>Daily operation of printer, scanner, and PC to view scanned or electronically received documents for image quality and/or to print or duplicate media for discovery on case files as requested. May operate a multifunction device to copy, scan, and/or fax documents; ensures that machine is clean, functioning, and adequately stocked with paper. May assist in processing and distribution of incoming mail to appropriate personnel/units; prepares outgoing mail for transport to mailing facility. May assist in ordering, stocking and distribution of office supplies. </li><li>Acts as primary back-up to the reception desk; may occasionally make copies of documents for the staff and public, screens incoming persons and telephone calls and determines if they need to be referred to a particular department and/or individual. Assist with transporting supplies and records to court. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general direction of a supervisor. Assignments are varied and performed within specific unit guidelines.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT: Assignments in this class are characterized by working from specific instructions following standard procedures as well as the ability to work within strict timelines. Errors may result in the dissemination of inaccurate or incomplete, confidential information that could adversely affect public or employee relations or a criminal case.</p> <p>SCOPE OF INTERPERSONAL CONTACT: Contact may be with coworkers, superiors, attorneys, court personnel, and the general public and involve the giving and receiving of factual data and the processing/delivery of discovery.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED equivalent required. </li><li>An Associate/Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred. </li><li>Previous office experience is a plus. </li><li>A combination of education and experience may be considered. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to gain a general knowledge of all unit functions and gain a working knowledge of legal terminology. </li><li>Ability to manage a diverse workload, accomplish work in a timely and efficient manner; work independently and in a team. </li><li>Ability to gain working knowledge of discovery process and operation of scanning equipment/imaging technology. </li><li>Ability to effectively locate documents and prepare discovery. </li><li>Ability to learn the operation of a telephone console to perform receptionist duties; to operate standard office equipment; computer, scanner, copier, fax). </li><li>Ability to gain a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Teams, internal records management software programs and follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors and co- workers. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with staff, law enforcement, and the general public. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License upon hire, with complying insurance. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment. </li><li>This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb a stepladder, lift boxes above head, and some bending and kneeling required.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally confined to a standard office environment. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required. In the event that an exempt employee does work more than 40 hours a week in support of County operations during an emergency, such employee may receive overtime or other appropriate wage compensation in accordance with existing County policies or at the discretion of the County.</p>
