<p>Description</p> <p>Legislative Services Office</p> <p>IT Software Developer/Analyst</p> <p>Position Description: This is a full-time, on-site, limited-service benefitted appointment (funding available through December 2026) with the potential to become permanent.This is an ideal opportunity for a recent Computer Science graduate or a professional returning to the workforce, looking to gain hands-on experience in state government technology systems.</p> <p>The candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of custom software systems, including Java/J2EE/Oracle desktop application and supporting web applications using modern frameworks. Collaborate with the team to design solutions that integrate with legacy and current systems.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, test and document application code. </li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve software issues. </li><li>Refactor legacy code to meet modern standard </li><li>Collaborate with the team on software architecture and planning </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in Object-Oriented programming with Java • Proficiency with Jakarta EE 10, Spring, and Spring Boot frameworks • Knowledge of SOLID principles, MVVM pattern, and Domain-Driven Design • Experience with Test-Driven Development • Basic web development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript • Version control experience using GitLab</p> <p>Desirable Experience• Web development with WordPress, PHP, and advanced JavaScript • C++ development, particularly with Win32 API • Linux System Administration and familiarity with WildFly/JBoss and Apache Tomcat • Experience with Oracle Database 19c and technologies like XML Schema, DTD, XPath, and XSLT.</p> <p>About the Legislative Services Office: •• Ongoing career learning opportunities • A collaborative, service-first culture • A chance to contribute directly to Idaho's legislative process</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>The State of Idaho offers a robust total compensation package, including medical, vision, and dental insurance; PERSI retirement benefits; paid sick, vacation, and parental leave; and 11 paid holidays per year.
