Reports To: Building Principal Job Goal(s): To provide supplemental literacy and mathematics academic support to at-risk students in an in-class environment. Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>New Jersey Elementary School Teacher Certification </li><li>A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. </li></ul> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assesses children throughout the school and identifies children at-risk, using informal and formal assessments. </li><li>Designs and implements academic interventions using research-based methodology in reading and/or math. </li><li>Differentiates instruction based on assessment data and develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. </li><li>Documents interventions and progress on each child. </li><li>Communicates with school personnel and parents of children regarding reading and/or math level and rate of progress. </li><li>Works with the school leadership team to guide and monitor the progress of each child. </li><li>Participates in team reviews concerning academic progress for students who are struggling or need services. </li><li>Shares pre- and post-assessment student data with applicable teachers and administration. </li><li>Provides small group instruction. </li><li>Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of each student to ensure success. </li><li>Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings. </li><li>Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff and community. </li><li>Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. </li><li>Evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives. </li><li>Maintains current knowledge of educational research, trends, and best practices. </li><li>Participates actively in faculty and/or department meetings. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Application: Qualified individuals interested in this position are invited to apply online at https://www.applitrack.com/paramus/onlineapp/default.aspx Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>New Jersey resident or willingness to relocate </li><li>Controlled substance testing and successful completion of criminal history background checks are required of all applicants offered employment. </li></ul> <p>Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement between the Board of Education and the Education Association of Paramus.
