The primary responsibility will be to manage all financial aspects of the Orlando Paving and Hot mix business units of Hubbard Construction. The Associate Cost Controller reports to both the Regional Finance Controller and the Division Manager. The job is based in Orlando, Florida and requires on-site presence.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Prepare monthly financial statements and communicate results to executives. </li><li>Analyze financial reports and develop new financial strategies to achieve company goals. </li><li>Oversee day-to-day operations of the division's finances. </li><li>Supervise a team of 3 accountants. </li><li>Manage the completion of the month/quarter/year-end close for the division. </li><li>Prepare budgets and forecasts for the division and present them to the executive team. </li><li>Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers on project budgeting and cost control. </li><li>Travel to jobsites as needed. </li><li>Prepare monthly journal entries. </li><li>Support Corporate with internal and external financial audits. </li><li>Ensure security, integrity, and confidentiality of data. </li><li>Assumes other special activities and responsibilities as required. </li></ul> <p>Authorities:</p> <p>The Associate Cost Controller has full authority to perform his/her duties; however, they must consult with the necessary Manager in the following matters:</p> <ul> <li>When things vary from the normal processes </li><li>When any problems occur </li><li>Any threat of litigation or situations that may lead to litigation </li><li>Any matter that may affect the interest of the company </li><li>Non-compliance with reporting requirements to regulatory authorities </li></ul> <p>Qualification Requirements</p> <p>General To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Attributes</p> <ul> <li>Understanding of construction job costing, billing cycles, retainage, and WIP accounting, desired but not required. </li><li>Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in project financials. </li><li>Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial data with integrity. </li><li>Clear and concise communication skills to interact with project managers, estimators, and executive leadership. </li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize under pressure. </li><li>Ability to summarize and analyze multi-faceted financial data. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>5-10 years of experience in financial or accounting roles, preferably within the construction industry is a plus. </li><li>SAP experience is a plus </li><li>Management experience. </li><li>Proficiency with MS Office Suites. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands.
