<p>Chatham County Facilities Maintenance is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker IV to join our team. If you have completed vocational or technical school training and possess a minimum of one year of experience in general maintenance, we invite you to apply for this dynamic position and become a key member of our team.</p> <p>Under general direction, you </p> <ul> <li>Perform routine to semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on buildings, equipment, grounds, and related facilities, including carpentry, painting, mechanical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning, custodial, or other maintenance projects.  </li><li>Perform electrical tasks such as installing electrical receptacles and switches, repairing electrical components, tripping/replacing breakers or replacing light bulbs and ballasts.  </li><li>Perform plumbing tasks such as installing/repairing plumbing fixtures, clearing/unstopping water lines and drains, repairing commodes, repairing plumbing leaks, and maintaining/repairing sprinkler systems.  </li><li>Perform tasks involving maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, check the temperature on HVAC units, maintain HVAC systems, clean fans and condenser coils, clean/replace filters, lubricate and replace bearings, and adjust and replace belts.  </li><li>Perform tasks involving general building maintenance, carpentry, or construction projects, paint interior/exterior surfaces, install, adjust, and repair doors and hardware, replace windows, doors, and glass panes, lubricate hardware, and assemble, repair, install or move tables, cabinets, shelving, or furniture.  </li><li>May instruct others.  </li><li>Must be available for on-call duty during non-working hours, holidays, and weekends and use personal transportation to respond.  </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li><li>High School Diploma or GED and vocational or technical school training, and  </li><li>At least one (1) year of experience in general maintenance; or  </li><li>Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.  </li><li>Experience in multiple skilled crafts is preferred.  </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.  </li><li>Must provide and wear approved steel toe protective footwear during regular working hours.  </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. </li></ul>
